Helsinki city centre will once again host the free Helsinki Goes EDM event, which has become a tradition in June. This EDM evening, organised by the electronic music collective Luxonia, will be held as part of the Helsinki Day programme on Friday 12 June in the Kaisaniemenpuisto area, and will feature a total of twelve artists over the course of six hours. EDM is still a major force in the Finnish music industry. There are a total of 19 artists in Finland with over a million monthly listeners on Spotify. Eight of them are EDM artists, according to a list maintained by Luxonia. DJ FKU, who specializes in phonk-style EDM, is at the top of the list with 7.13 million monthly listeners, followed by Darude (4.75 million) and HIM (4.44 million). The Weekend Festival, held in Vermo, Espoo at the turn of July and August, will once again feature a large number of Luxonia artists. In total, nine Luxonians will take to the stage at Weekend. On Friday, July 31, the Weekend late night will feature Triple M, Robbe, KLASS, KUOKKA and Eric Altair. On Saturday, August 1, the festival will be kicked off by Ropsu, Axity, Joysic and Thomas Will.
