Helsinki Goes EDM on June!

Helsinki city centre will once again host the free Helsinki Goes EDM event, which has become a tradition in June. This EDM evening, organised by the electronic music collective Luxonia, will be held as part of the Helsinki Day programme on Friday 12 June in the Kaisaniemenpuisto area, and will feature a total of twelve artists over the course of six hours.

Helsinki Goes EDM will feature a large group of producers from different EDM styles. Luxonia’s own artists Ropsu, Thomas Will, Axity, Loose, Walter Alan, Eric Altair, KUOKKA and KLASS will perform at the event, as well as guest stars Jodie Mare, Simo Isaksson, ANDYon and ZÄMSÄ. The Helsinki Day evening will feature house music, big room and techno.

– Helsinki Goes EDM has become more and more popular every year. Last time, it was attended by over a thousand people. Some stayed for several hours and some just dropped by to enjoy the good news of good music. There are many veterans performing, but also a few artists and DJs/Producers who have performed less frequently. All of Luxonia's artists have been seen before, for example at Electric Carnival, and in the summer they can also be seen at Helsinki City Festival, Sonaari and Weekend, says Tomi Lindblom, who is responsible for Luxonia's artists.

Luxonia is a collective of EDM producers focused on electronic dance music, with seventeen domestic DJs/producers and three background people from all over Finland. Helsinki Goes EDM events always include external visitors, whom Luxonia wants to give the opportunity to perform for a large audience in a good setting.

– Helsinki Goes EDM is a relaxed park-like event, where it is easy to visit or spend time longer. The Kaisaniemenpuisto area is very suitable for this kind of music. We have organized Helsinki Goes EDM events there many times before on Helsinki Day and the Night of the Arts, says Matias Taavitsainen, who is responsible for Luxonia's technical implementation.
