A total of twenty Finnish electronic dance music artists and background influences have founded a large collective that is unique in the conditions of Finland and even in the Nordic Countries. The group called Luxonia Family includes 17 artists and three industry background people from different parts of Finland.
Luxonia Family artists have been seen on the stages of Weekend Festival and Electronic Fields Festival, among others, and they have made music for numerous domestic and foreign record companies. There are a total of six Luxonia Family artists on the Top 30 list of Finnish EDM producers' monthly Spotify listens.
“Luxonia wants to raise the profile of Finnish electronic dance music and its artists in Finland and around the world. We organize events and arrange artists for festivals and other occasions as well. We believe that together we are more. We have approached and already made good cooperation with many significant events and parties in electronic music. In addition, completely new types of events and transactions are being developed”, says Tomi Lindblom, Luxonia Family's artist manager, who has more than ten years of experience in e.g. as spokesperson for numerous EDM festivals and artists.
The founding artists of Luxonia Family are Axity, DeejaVu, Eric Altair, JaySic, Joysic, KLASS, KUOKKA, Lionis, Loose, Mike Ditchz, Robbe, SM!LE, Thomas Will, Triple M, VIIO, Walter Alan and Whoknows. In addition to the capital region, they come from Jyväskylä, Kouvola, Lappeenranta, Tampere and Vaasa.
Among the industry's background influencers, Luxonia also includes Matias and Elmeri Taavitsainen, who have long experience in, among other things, organizing many EDM events and their technical solutions. They are also e.g. founders of the Electronic Fields Festival in Helsinki.
“Luxonia is a versatile collective, and we also have strong technical and artistic expertise. We have produced many own events, and more are coming”, say Matias and Elmeri Taavitsainen.
Nine Luxonian artists performed at the recently held Weekend Festival in Finland. In addition, Luxonia organized The Helsinki Goes EDM event on August 15 during the Night of the Arts in the centre of the capital of Finland. Next, a large group of Luxonian artists will take the stage at the Electronic Fields Festival in Helsinki on Saturday, August 24, and at the Electric Carneval special Baltic Sea cruise on September 28.
