A five-hour electronic music charity event will be held on Friday, June 6th at Oulu's Mallasterassi, with proceeds going to MIELI ry to support mental health work. The event is organized by Oulu-based electronic dance music artist Recens, who has organized similar events before.

The purpose of the event, called Music for Minds, is to bring people together over good music and do concrete good at the same time. Expect a boiler room-style evening on the 360 stage, where a DJ will play in the middle of the audience. The intimate courtyard, modern sound and strong community feel make the evening unique.

Recens, real name Topias Rajala, is a 25-year-old DJ/Producer who has performed all over Finland during his career and will also be performing at Qstock this summer, among other places.

– As an artist, I want to grow and target the international market, but at the same time do truly meaningful things, such as supporting mental health. The background to my charity work is that I suffered from a serious illness that led to brain surgery a few years ago. My recovery changed my attitude towards music and life. Previously, I thought of them more in terms of partying and a good vibe, but now music is a tool for me to process emotions and strive to create a genuine connection with the audience, says Recens.

The Music for Minds event starts at Mallasterassi at 9:00 PM and ends at 2:00 AM. Tickets cost 10 euros at the door.
