EBEN And Two More New Finns Join The Music Million Club

The other member of the YES YES duo, Eetu Rantakokko, aka EBEN, has now entered the Finnish Spotify million club also as a solo artist. YES YES's monthly listener figures on Spotify have long been over a million, but now they have also been exceeded by EBEN.

New Finns to make the million-list include composer Jean Sibelius and phonk music artist OXXED. A total of 18 Finnish artists, bands and music creators now have over a million monthly listeners on Spotify, according to a list maintained by Luxonia.

Spotify's most popular Finnish artist at the moment is DJ FKU, who specializes in phonk-style electronic dance music, with a whopping 7.65 million monthly listeners. The Rasmus is in second place (4.49 million) and Darude is in third place (4.11 million).

– Jean Sibelius passed away almost 70 years ago, but his music is still widely listened to around the world. Sunrise Avenue has fallen off the list, with listeners now just under a million, says Tomi Lindblom from Luxonia, who is responsible for the list.

Overall, Finnish EDM artists are doing particularly well in Spotify's listenership figures. Among the eighteen Finnish artists and bands in the million-list club, there are eight domestic EDM artists: DJ FKU, Darude, Skorde (which is DJ FKU's second stage name), Robbe, YOTTO, YES YES, Janji and EBEN.

Luxonia also maintains a TOP 30 list of Finnish EDM artists, which is updated daily on Luxonia's website www.luxonia.fi/top30.

Five of Luxonia's own artists make it into the TOP 30 (Ropsu, DeejaVu, KUOKKA, Eric Altair and Ropsu). The Luxonia collective includes a total of 17 EDM artists and three background people from different parts of Finland. Luxonia's artists have made music for numerous Finnish and foreign record labels and have already been seen on the stages of many festivals and events.

A total of 14 of our artists have already performed at Weekend, for example. We have also organized many successful outdoor events in the center of Helsinki, Tomi Lindblom says.
