DJ FKU Once Again The Most Listened to Finnish Artist Worldwide

DJ FKU has once again become the most listened to Finnish artist worldwide. Darude overtook DJ FKU as number one on July 22, but DJ FKU has now taken over the top spot again after a month and a half break.

DJ FKU's music currently attracts 4.349 million listeners per month on Spotify, which is just under 30,000 more than Darude's 4.321 million. It remains to be seen whether the change in number one is more permanent or just a temporary change. However, DJ FKU's numbers have recently been on a clear rise, while Darude's have been on a slight decline.

The third most listened to Finnish artist worldwide is The Rasmus (4.14 million), followed by Apocalyptica (3.35 million) and Nightwish (2.65 million).

The list maintained by Luxonia shows that the order of the artists has changed in just over a month, with the only other change being that HIM has overtaken KAJ and moved to sixth place.

A total of 13 Finnish artists currently exceed the one million monthly listener mark on Spotify. EDM artists are particularly prominent on the list, as there are a total of six Finnish EDM artists in the million club:

– We launched the million-listing of all Finnish artists a couple of months ago. Instead, we have been compiling the Finnish EDM TOP 30 list for a year now at www.luxonia.fi/top30. In August 2024, DJ FKU was the overwhelming number one on the TOP 30 list. However, his popularity has fallen dramatically over the year from almost ten million monthly listeners to just under 4.4 million. In contrast, Darude's popularity has remained stable on both sides of four million, says Tomi Lindblom from Luxonia, who is responsible for updating the TOP 30 list.

After DJ FKU and Darude, Skorde, DJ FKU's second artist name, is third on the EDM TOP 30 list. Skorde's popularity has also fallen drastically over the year from over six million to just under two million. To enter the Finnish EDM TOP 30 list, a little over 80,000 monthly Spotify listeners are currently required.

The popularity of electronic music is also clearly growing in Finland. A good example of this growth is the Luxonia collective, founded a year ago, which includes a total of 17 artists and three background people from different parts of Finland. The Luxonia Family artists have made music for numerous domestic and foreign record labels and have already been seen on the stages of many festivals and events.

Two of Luxonia's artists are in the top ten of the Finnish TOP 30 list (Robbe and DeejaVu) and four others are still in the TOP 30 (KUOKKA, Eric Altair, Ropsu and Joysic).
