A huge electronic music event, The Resistance, to be held in Suvilahti, Helsinki in July, fights against oppression and donates part of its ticket revenue to charity. On July 12, the event held in Suvilahti and its Kattilahalli will feature a large number of international techno music stars, such as Italian DJ/Producer Rooler, Denmark's hardstyle king Adrenalize, Dutch hardstyle virtuosos Devin Wild and Rejecta, and Australia's Code Black.
- The Resistance wants to act as a defender of everyone's personal freedom against oppression. There are too many wars, battles, poverty, discrimination and other unfair treatment in the world. We want to provide a safe environment for like-minded people to release themselves from the pressures of their lives, amidst the thump of bass and neon lights. It's not just about the music, it's about accepting yourself, resisting oppressive forces and finding a community around a shared musical passion, says event promoter Martin Karm from SoundVault.
The event puts its musical ideals into practice by donating part of its proceeds to charity. At the same time, the festival reinforces its central message of freedom and fighting oppression by offering direct support to those who need it most.
- It's not just a party, but The Resistance aims to leave a lasting mark on society. With the help of strong music, captivating storytelling and now also charity activities, the organizers and the audience come together to do more than just dance. The goal is the desire to create real and sustainable change where it is most needed, says Martin Karm.
The Resistance takes place as an outdoor and indoor event, and you can buy a joint ticket or a separate ticket for the outdoor or indoor event. The outdoor festival is held in Suvilahti from 15:00 to 22:00 and the indoor event in Kattilahalli on the 360-degree stage from 21:00 to 04:00.
The outdoor stage features Adrenalize, Bad Blood, Devin Wild, Rejecta, Rooler and Miia Solar. Code Black, DJ Isaac, Krowdexx, Malice, Unresolved and Digital Mindz will perform on the inner stage.
The age limit for the event is K-18, and its tickets are already on sale at Bilet.
